I think that the entire piece is histrionic and puritanical and belies a revoltingly elitist and totalitarian mindset, sectioning off a blue collar straight(in the sense of both "square" and hetero) culture and idealizing it as the prime revolutionary actors. This is so retrograde and creepy its worthy of any loony Maoist sect anywhere.
