Sorry but cheerleading is not the right word in my opinion. But beyond that I tend to think that such a word conceals too much cynicism. And cynicism in my opinion blinds people from rational analyses of there own value ladened position in judging. In other words, that people have differences of sentiment or opinion is natural... but cynicism and reactionarism tend to blind the judge's awareness that it is he or she's values that give meaning and relevance to the judgement, not that judgements seemingly objective content. Or to put it again differently, you or Angela's perspective might have something valuable to contribute to a critique such intellectual support for counter-imperialist action. But the word "cheerleading" is in my opinion a step away from doing so.

That someone wants imperialist war to be ended, to democratize a tyrrant, is not cheerleading in my opinion, its thinking, what would be better at this point and time for class struggle in general. I happen to think that what people in the EU and Washington think are not important to global class struggle. And how could I not, it is not as if the wage relation has an ambiguous status vis-a-vis war or with imperialism. The suggestion in fact seems quite silly to me.
