I would say that gender issues vis-a-vis the avant-garde are of great interest, and nothing about them is resolved or understood. On the other hand, I propose that we not pick on people's mode of expression (if it is just a mode of expression), in the same way we don't pick on spelling or on other things easily corrected by the reader.
