Reijo, I agree that "individualism" is a very poor choice of term in
connection with fascism.  I don't know exactly what better term to
use to capture this particular aspect of fascism.  Fascism, I would
say, is a cult of personal strength in which through total submission to 
the strength of certain individuals the cult-members, as individuals, 
feel themselves to be possessed of this strength.  This seems to me
not dissimilar to the cult of the artist: the artist is  seen 
as representing "human genius" or "human creativity", and others can 
partake of these things by the very fact of worshipping it in the artist. 
I know that this is a gross simplification, but I am hoping it will get
complicated in the course of discussion.
