Subject: Too much noise on avant-garde listserver

Fellow subscribers,

let me apologize for aporetically fulfilling the subject line, but without
wanting to sound narrow-minded or 'single-disciplinary', it greatly
botheres me to daily find my mailbox cluttered with threads which are far
off this forum's topic and seem rather appropriate for Usenet groups
(especially those aphoristic "me too" replies). When posting to this
listserver, one should aware of the net traffic to follow. Listservers are
meant for more elaborate contributions than newsgroups postings. I
definitely prefer this group to be rather inactive, but spread interesting
information from time to time. There have been many good postings here, but
I am somewhat sick of wading through an ever-growing lot of noise which,
for example, decreases my motivation to finish a translation of
ex-Spur-member Frank Boeckelmann's article on the Situationist
International for this group. If we would turn it into "alt.avant-garde",
one could at least define a kill-filter for the utterances of Herrn
Recktenwald et.al.
