First of all, voila:

It made me really happy. How he says: "It works", Rulers etc...

Yes, drawing is where everything starts.

But I am still thinking about an proper answer to the question on mass-
culture and urbanity. Towns were freedom in ancient times, this seems
to make the global village a global town. But it cannot replace real life
I think, metropolitan life lives from direct experience and everything
else is a provincial copy, sotosay the kitsch version of urbanity.
To use email is urban but email etc in themself are not. Hope this makes
some sense in english, at least as a starting point.

Some people from Bonn did translate the DH authobiography for an editor
in cologne. Beautiful book, Id prefer the english version.., but nobody
buys it. My father had a print of Celia in his working room.

DHs drawings have a lot of reality. I dont draw very often, its too
energy consuming, to concentrate on looking at things etc, but sometimes
I do it for 5 minutes or maybe 10

Heiko

Speaking of London, VW made a great description of the hyde park in
Mrs Dalloway, walking trough the town, urban dimensions, wasnt there an
airplane too?
