	Contagious disease is, from the outset, a phenomenon of the
contamination of meaning, as it makes all forms of meaning and their
destruction potentially possible. This collapse of meaning, at the moment
when meaning simultaneously irrupts and destroys itself, is not the
exclusive domain of artistic creation; it is a fundamental figure in the
destinies of societies and cultures.
