Hello everyone,

For those of you who are in the New York area and who are interested in the
cultural end of technology, its history and future (communications
technologies, artificial intelligence, etc.) and of how technological
developments affect cultural and socio-political paradigms, there is a
conference on Saturday January 24 at 4 p.m. at the Williamsburg Art Center
(135 Broadway, corner of Bedford in Brooklyn, New York, 718 486 7372)
called 'Pandemonium: Migrations of Control'.

Manuel de Landa, author of 'War in the Age of Intelligent Machines' and of
the newly published 'A Thousand Years of Non-Linear History', both
published by Zone, will be speaking on the subject of self-organizing
systems, artifical intelligence, 'demons' and 'pandemonium'. The
conference is in conjunction with an art exhibition of the same name at the
Center which runs through to February 9. Admission is free.

If anybody wants further info, please feel free to contact me.
