yeah, well...
   and then you think about where image has not been compromised... it was
once asserted that the avant-garde existed only to the degree that it
contested the institutions of art. i am personnally partial to alot of late
modernists who might have been once avant-garde- nauman did great things
with concrete...but, think about it...why?
  who amongst us is not trying to substantiate maladaptivity? 
  and why are we not doing it better?
  i would suggest that too many modernist tropes have been too easily
digested...
