Dear listmembers,

Those who have seen this on the fluxlist please ignore--

I'm writing to let people who live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area about
our (me and collaborator/husband Jeffrey Kalstrom) installation "Red Room,"
at Intermedia Arts in Minneapolis, 28th and Lyndale S. This is a work
that's trying to explore the double-endedness of signification, something
with its head in attribution and its feet in materiality. The quality red
signifies as it does because we're all full of blood, the sun sets, red
willows are shocking in the snow, we eat meat, and so on. There's a little
house full of cultural associations, from Lenin to Che to beautiful ads for
red Coach handbags, to red satin dresses to dioramas of red scenes to
videos of mouths and ore boats to . . . . And then there's the woods,
outside the back door of the house.

In any case, if you're in the area go see. Be sure to check the inside of
the oven, under the bed, the Blush closet, the candy cupboard--

Ann Klefstad
