The way it is, recepients can immediately go to the imagery, without having to first ask directions. And actually the mailing-list is only for announcements and commentary. There _is_ a list that might eventually disseminate the imagery via email <12hr-isbn-jpeg-mailed> but for time being, FTP, WWW, and Usenet seem to be the preferred channels.
