The institutional vanguard is very unaccustomed to hearing criticism of itself -- there are various "mechanisms" that ensure that the acolytes need never question their increasingly reactionary, "virtuous" and insular power structures. Ironically, it's this very resistance to self-criticism, expansive strategies and methods, that ensures that the vanguard will not be even begin to be effective -- except as some backward, corrupt, *obstruction* to new social dimension.
