Subject: For Harry Partch freaks

The CRI "Harry Partch Collection" recordings are truly excellent.
Contrary to what it might seem, they are not mostly re-releases of
previously released stuff. For example, CRI's recordings of "The Wayward"
series are not from the same versions of the scores as in the "Enclosures"
disks, but from later revisions and later performances. The differences
are amazing, both in the way the music is re-conceived (by both Partch and
the performers) and in the way the instruments sound on the CRI disks.
Also, the liner notes are swell; they contain full texts of everything
(and make unrestrained use of Partch's photogenicness).
