I agree, cities are a state of mind.  They change before your eyes, as they 
become more familiar. You make your discoveries, but then streets and 
landmarks become commonplace, and then, they disappear.

Current reading: The City - Los Angeles and Urban Theory at the End of the 
20th c. Soja and Scott eds. LA both attracts and repells me. I'm determined 
to understand it.
