I am interested in the relationship between this myth and the broader culture that contains it -- a culture of relief seeking, reality avoidance, and forgetfulness...... My work aims to be escapist while simultaneously exploring the perceptual and cultural dynamics of escapism." Thursday, March 30th, 6:30 PM Einstein Auditorium 34 Stuyvesant Street Between 3rd & 2nd Avenues at 9th Street Tomaselli, the New York based painter who "has won a reputation for optically dazzling canvases that employ not only paint but also arrays of mind bending flora and pharmaceuticals," will discuss his latest work and the American quest for a natural utopia. Fred Tomaselli was born in Santa Monica, California in 1956.
