Hi Jay, all, I've thought of starting an avant-garde literary magazine, but I don't want to duplicate efforts. If a good a-g lit mag is out there, I'd rather support/join them than make another. My (free) zine HAPPY LAND is a side project that allows me to try out ideas, and more easily distribute my writings/drawings. My own tastes stray towards: . nonrepresentational and nongrammatical text . text+image, and writing's visual properties . the impact of technologies upon the arts . the impact of the arts upon culture . anything goofy I'd be happy if others got involved with HAPPY LAND. Issue 3 (avant-garde comics) will probably feature pieces by a friend of mine, and future issues are wide open for collaboration/submissions. If no one wants to participate, I'll keep making all the content myself. If others want to join in, maybe HAPPY LAND will become something else. If no one wants to read it, I'll go back to producing work for no one but myself and my best friends, the Menagerie et Trois. Some comics from HAPPY LAND #1 can be seen in (fittingly) primitive online form at: www.geocities.com/fatherfigaro/happyland/happyland.html If you're interested in receiving copies of HAPPY LAND, or sharing in the happy fun, please email me at this address or: adjameson-AT-yahoo.com Cheers, Adam __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
