Subject: Digitalisation of things.


What is it, that we have, when we have a piece of software, is it the
idea, the right to use it, that is transfered, shrink, wrap, is it the
thing, into which the computer has turned, the typewriter, the drawing
table ?

Habere licere was what the buyer got in roman law, no matter if it was
stolen or not. Copies of software are as good as the original. The same
thing. More than to have such a thing, the buyer doesnt want and the
seller isnt expected to give. The owner of code shouldnt be treated better
than the owner of things.
