Hey whats with brack[ing] the ing's O obscure one called Gon(e)-go-r'a'.
Leaving us to play with yourself again why looking at your image in the
mirror mirror on the wall? You know I have been thinkin, went to the library
today, it was open again -- went dry for a few days -- it was hard, you
sending me on a wild reference chase and all. I have been thinking that
Gongora is like obscurity (that would be you) and Quevedo is like witty
ingenuity (that would be me). And you know, the difference between me and
you, our differend, is 25% legibility vs. 80% legibility. I am in a good mood
today. Some days back I refered to the wrong person, the writer from whom I
first starting learning about love poetry and all that was not Jimenez but
Pedro Salinas. I went and got out some stuff by him, Quevedo, Mallarme. The
books I was thinking of by Salinas that are worth a look are: _La Realidad y
el Poeta_ some stuff on Gongora in this one, but the book that specially
struck me and introduced me to some astonishing poems by Jorge Manrique (they
are called simply _Coplas_) is called _Jorge Manrique O Tradition Y
Originalidad_

Lovely quote from Batille (pg 25 _The Impossible_) by the way.

drowning in real deep shit,
Ariosto
