... silence is that white gloss painted over the solidity of being and
being's raving(ravenous be[com]ing): a rhythmic enhancement of Time.

Silence is what is exterior to Thought ... Thought's border or periphery
(_Horos_), the eye of which reflects the infinite gaze of our own Eye,
and distills meaning in the finite yet flowing deep of the I.
Contemplation of Silence leads to a duo-fold grasping that is inscribed
(as) loss -- the career of Logos over the cliffs and across the plains
and flats of a land of concepts ... exterio-totalitarian emphasis placed
on adequation and the blind croaking Azathothic god(dess) called
'consiliation'.

Silence is the space wherein our duality collides unknowingly with the
imposed interpretations of the Other. Fecund silence, though, the
pregnant Thought of the Beyond-I, of what, in purity, attempting to give
us to creativity, instead opened the path to being's end, is the
un-concealed, un-echoed murmur of a primal mode of thought, or thinking,
that cannot enter into contact with being(s)-in-the-world in (its)
purity. Silence appears in its wake as inaction, as rebellion -- a
hoax. And whatever meaning lies behind that hoax must of necessity
remain cloaked in gnostic perambulations about the textual realm -- an
endless flirtation with philosophy, a sexual encounter with, a seduction
of, religion ....

Reading aloud, then, to intertwine my thread(s) with verbiage --; When
Artaud lauds so the declaimed verse, seeing it as the sole means of
awakening the slumbering hieroglyphics of an atemporal thrust of thought
('On the Chimeras', _Watchfiends and Rack Screams_: 1995, p. 62), he
feels/fears salvation to be the mergence with the world of beings, of
nature -- a nature so pure as to remain forever bodiless. When Artaud
plays with the word 'remanate' (p. 59), it is clear that what is at
stake is not an event as cataclysmic and profoundly final as the Gnostic
idea of the remergence of the 'spark' with the Un-Begotten Father, but
rather an e(X)ternal and circular renewal through a re-merging "with the
principle of generative slime" (p. 52). A claustrophobically
un-exhilarating and scathingly _hylic_ notion.

A certain violence is done to the written word when one shakes it from
its self-sufficient stupor by shouting out its syllables to the vampiric
air/ear. This mergence with sound, brought about by violence done to
the 'casing' or 'carrier' of that primal mode of thinking, derived from
the origin in the un-begotten, muffles the inherent meaning of the Word,
and drives both victim and thief on to a mo(ve)ment of _adequation_.
Nothing is truly lost here, simply placed aside indefinitely.

"The particular automatic character of a walk or a dance
to music is a mode of being where nothing is unconscious,
but where consciousness, paralyzed in its freedom, plays,
     totally absorbed in this playing"
(Levinas, 'Reality and its shadow', _The Levinas Reader_:
      1989, p. 133).
