(-- for "Left Hand Luke" Pellen)

                                                    let us

          <In> imaginat[ion]

                             [ ..... ]

           a reading/writing that obscures reminiscence.

                                 V
                              all-ways ... bound to
                              the gaze:

          "[The Wise Man] simply _is_ and does not _become_;
he maintains himself in _identity_ to himself and
he is satisfied in and by this identity"
(Kojeve, _Introduction to the Reading of Hegel_:
           1969, 1980, p. 77).

-- That is, the _hylic_ man ... He who rests in & upon the world of
beings, of others ...
and "the _absolute spirit_ [that] possesses itself in
knowledge" (Marias, _History of Philosophy_: 1967 tr., p. 319) is a
_concept_ derived from this world, and fails to take into account the
mo(ve)ment that brought it hither.

The Mandaeans (a Gnostic sect surviving to this day in southern Iran and
Iraq) declare(d) music to be evil ... ; such a declaration can be
justified by demonstrating the manner in which music -- or, more
properly, _rhythm_ -- draws the Self away from the I ... throwing the
Eye/Self into a "mode of being where nothing is unconscious, but where
consciousness, paralyzed in its freedom, plays, totally absorbed in this
playing" (Levinas, 'Reality and its shadow', _The Levinas Reader_: 1989,
p. 133).

                                      ... >

In & through our association with this world our consciousness is not
extinguished, but rather placed outside the sphere or spectrum of
_immediacy_, -- : and is there/fore (forced) to act as/(provide) the
grounding for an existence whose (idea[l] of) _perfection_ is to be
sought in/through the approval of others.

"[The Wise Man] is objectively satisfied, by universal
'recognition', for no one would want to force him to
change the state that satisfies him" (Kojeve, p. 79).

For to force the 'Wise Man' to change or abandon his perfect state would
require an effort on behalf of the opposing Other that would effectively
draw that Other out of his/her solipsistic-interpretative stance ... and
in such a manner would being's delicate balance collapse, -- : in a
mo(ve)ment of object-subject _fusion_ -- ... not without an attempt at
consiliatory re-cognition/renewal ... however, futile -- .

The purpose of the trapped spirit, then, is not to mimic its originatory
essence by refusing to act -- to _desire_ nothing -- ... by believing
that a state of adequation can possibly be established between objective
world and (interior) _pleroma_. -- : but rather to (f)roll(ick)
(in)/along the finite path of be(com)ing, and inscribe there/in/on its
echoes/traces of eternity/infinity ...
