I instantly thought of ecstasy as that which resists fusion, "to the "absolute" impossibility of complete immanence" (Nancy _The Inoperative Community_ Pg. 6). He traces the philosophical history before Bataille and during his time as he says, to Schelling and Heidegger. Going farther, t/here, is also the notion of crisis in Schelling that actually has its basis on what some call the Swabian mystical tradition whose central texts are signed by the name of Jacob Boehme. We know that Hegel was familiar with his writings even before he bought the complete works in 1811. He mentions him in reference to what he is saying about quality in the logical works.
