You have been absent, letting your computer to become polluted, for two years. The list belongs to no one. It is what you or what anyone makes it. If you want more discussion of Bataille, then, you will have it. After awhile, however, that will become dull. Bataille died in 1962. > Une liste n'est pas une fantaisie mais bien un lieu de discussion >et d'échange qui dmeurent dans les limites de l'intitulée, soit Georges >Bataille. That is certainly true if you want to limit yourself that much. It is my opinion that Georges Bataille could not have wanted to think that there could be people sitting at computers discussing, again and again, the same old stuff. He was an artist. He would have wanted to move on. I do not think that he could have wanted his imagination to be stifled. His imagination was quite rich, was it not? I cannot see that such narrowness could serve any purpose. What is so wrong with imagination that you consider it unworthy of this list? I think that I was quite correct in my earlier assessment that an analyst such as yourself makes a career from the analysis of art precisely because you despise art. Your scrutiny and analysis belittles and lessens it. That is your intention. > Pourquoi croyez-vous que cela devient une routine ence qui vous >concerne? In some ways, this is a detriment to me and, in some ways, it is an asset. I can say that I would much rather be me than to be you. Education, though a wonderful tool, is not indicative of intelligence. One may be quite well educated but his education so narrow that he is quite limited by it as one is limited by the lack. I am not, certainly, an imbecile. A lot of my intelligence is a matter of sheer force. If you stay on this list, I guarantee you that you will not find me uninteresting. I am not a little suck-up like some others. I am not impressed by your professorship any more than I could be impressed by your lack of such a thing. Your status does not matter to me. Your English is ten times better than my French. That's a joke. I cannot understand any French at all. So, if it is at all possible, could you communicate in English? The translating gives me a headache. I think that, if I was truly an imbecile, I would not have gone to the effort of translating. If you write in English and must use a word or two or a sentence of French, I can look that up. The long passages are tedious, however. This is my shortcoming and I really do regret that I am not, at least, bilingual. However, if you could accomodate me, I would greatly appreciate it. Your English is easily understood by me. Faizi
