(as even Freud wouldn't say.) and interesting hegelly stuff around the gulf that makes discontinuous beings discontinuous, their limit. it is what makes them discontinuous but it is also the dizzy feeling of continuity, and plus, because they share the one gulf, discontinuous beings are continous in it. and do we get some results, like hegel on infinity, that the real continuity is not simply opposed to discontinuity, but is beyond, and is there a spurious continuity? the definition of the erotic as life up to death: a death we live through, a many-times-rehearsed death (i'm thinking about Vaughn in Crash, rehearsing his death(s) in the crashes of all the names of history)
