the foreword. thinking about the unity, treating human experience as a
whole, (Hegel: truth is the whole) but also the repetition, the same
things from many angles, like Sade's libertines trying to make a crime a
Crime?

the introduction. sex always bears the stamp of reproduction, sex is
*sexual* in this sense? (as even Freud wouldn't say.) and interesting
hegelly stuff around the gulf that makes discontinuous beings
discontinuous, their limit. it is what makes them discontinuous but it is
also the dizzy feeling of continuity, and plus, because they share the one
gulf, discontinuous beings are continous in it. and do we get some
results, like hegel on infinity, that the real continuity is not simply
opposed to discontinuity, but is beyond, and is there a spurious
continuity? the definition of the erotic as life up to death: a death we
live through, a many-times-rehearsed death (i'm thinking about Vaughn in
Crash, rehearsing his death(s) in the crashes of all the names of history)
