I don't have time now to reply completely to your post but I will try to do
so later. This paragraph stood out for me.

I have never slandered Ariosto. I have said plenty about him and to him and,
from time to time, I have upset him but I have never slandered him nor would
I ever hurt him or anyone in that way or in any way.

My comments are my personal opinions and nothing else. If people come to a
discussion list, then, they open themselves up to reading many things that
they may not find to be pleasing or flattering or otherwise conducive to
"friendly banter."

Ariosto is an old enemy of mine and, in that way, we are friends. I think
that he has the mental acuity to understand this. I have often provided him
with stimulus. The times that this list has been most alive have been when
Ariosto and I have been posting to it.

I have some measure of respect for Ariosto because he has spent considerable
time endeavoring to know philosophy and to understand its purpose. It is, of
course, unfortunate that, after fourteen years of study, he is still grasping
at straws but that is his choice.

There is no reason for you to find it necessary to defend the boy against me,
John. I am his enemy and, as such, I wish him well.

I make no apologies to anyone.
