I must agree with these sentiments. When I first read "The System of
Objects", I suddenly realised that the crisis of meanings I'd been feeling
for years was explained. It was a real 'home coming' for me. B's novel- like
approach to writing is a welcome change from much cultural theory. You
mentioned Kellner: some one on this list (sorry I've deleted the original
post) pointed me in the direction of the comparison between Gibson and B in
Kellners "Media and Culture" - a good read.
