I mean the use of the images is disgusting because it shows one very small group of mostly kids, teenagers, and ignorant people celebrating what the news media narrates. And their lives are born of the hatred they have learned from war and exile: it is not a justification of course if indeed it turns out the images are at all legitimate. Were they real images, or made in the studios?.. Robert Fisk does not doubt their validity and I suspect he knows far more than anyone I know, and he certainly knows the situation fo the Middle East perhaps better than anyone alive.... Last week I was reading here the words of the master media writer William S. Burroughs. He is a teacher and has taught me never tot take words at face value, and especially those of the media wizards. I suspect that almost all of the things we have read are true: some people celebrated, othes were shocked, and so on. An all too human response to an all too human form of destruction chaos and mayhem and this is what we have witnessed, mayhem, bedlam and the terrible birth of hell. Very sad and very much the time to be a Buddhist and pray for the wheel of dharma to cease its spinning forev er. ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
