Subject: Shall we scan in the readings, so that we can have guests?




We at the University of Utah could easily scan in the readings and
send them to everybody on the list, provided we get copyright
permission for this.  Of course, everyone who is presently on this
list will have the book, but even for us this would make it easier to
post quotes etc.  And I would like to announce the reading on the
marxism list and in my classes (one of which is a reading of Das
Kapital taught on email), therefore we may get some guests who do not
have the readings.

The copyright for
RTS2 lies with Roy Bhaskar, the publisher is
Harvester Wheatsheaf,

Since time is so short, perhaps there is someone on this list who
knows the responsible people personally, and can take care of this
with a couple of phone calls?  As soon as I get an authorisation faxed
to the number (801) 585 5649 in the USA, we will be on our way.


BTW once I wrote a letter to Verso in New York asking them permission
to make 20 pages of Reclaiming Reality available on a computer for one
of my classes.  They actually gave me this permission, charging I
think $2.20 for this.
