Just a note, sparked by Tobin's reference to reasons being causes.  Can
anyone remind me exactly where Bhaskar makes this case?  He asserts it a
lot, but I can't remember where it's actually argued.  I've been re-reading
some old articles against behaviorism and other forms of reductionism by
people like Alsdair MacIntyre, for example.  I realized that, although I
could probably construct a "Bhaskarian" position based on emergence, etc., I
couldn't recall precisely how Bhaskar demonstrates that his is a superior
account, relative to others within the philosophy of mind/philsophy of
psychology debates.
