Dear BHASKAR-listers,

I have joined the list today. I am from the state of Orissa in India,
currently finishing my PhD in the UK. My PhD is in the area of systems
thinking/management studies. The topic is: SOME PROBLEMS OF
ACTION-ORIENTED RESEARCH, ... so far!

I have a great interest in the philosophies of science. I am just
beginning a systematic study of 'realism'. So far, I understand
'realism' as an explicit postulation of a 'real' world that makes
inquiry (and criticism) possible and meaningful. This understanding
may be too naive for the participants of this list.

Will someone please comment on the above statement about 'realism' so
that I may understand where I lack proper understanding.

Look forward to be a part of your discussions.
