Tobin,

I don't this as a copout, but I am really, really busy at the moment, 
frantically trying to meet a deadline, and I honestly (1) don't intend, 
at least, to be advancing any of the claims you seem to think I am, and 
(2) don't understand my position to be particularly contentious, even. 
This leads me to suspect that the medium may be the problem.  But while 
I do have the 5 or 10 minutes AT BEST that, in my view, it would take to 
clear this up in person, I don't have the hours and hours I can see it 
taking to do it this way.  I could be wrong about this, of course, but 
this is the best I can do tonight anyway.
