this reminds me of a talk I once gave at an English Teachers' conference
and I without thinking used the term "dialectical".  Some smart asss asked
me what I meant by it and when I had finished stumbling through a rough
version of Hegel's dialectic, the bastard simply said "Thank you for that."
and the hall erupted in laughter.
