I think the problem you are addressing is fundamental to CR. Indeed Heikki Patomaki (a CR'er some on the list may know) and I are thinking of writing an article on how CR might affect research practices in International Relations. i do have quite a bit of material on this already. If you want I can supply refs. (when I manange to get my act together I will send them all to the WSCR bibliography.) On the more fundamental thing of getting your research affiliated to an institution. You would have to supply me with more details. For example, how do i explain to my head of department that it is in our interests as a dept. I've put it this way to put the issue starkly, my head of dept is actually a real diamond, and we do have regular visiting scholars, but before I appraoch him I'd like to know more about the situation. have a look at the DEpt of Int/pol web page. We are actually about the biggest Int/Pol dept in the UK, comparable to the LSE, and one of the most prestigious in the world. Int/POl as a discipline was actually started here after WWI. Also in geoography here there are a number of people who did there research with Sayer so there is probably with could tentativley be called a CR contigent. Anyway, let me have more details, give me an an angle to sell the idea to my boss and if you are interested I will see what i can do. Hope this helps, > ===========================================================Dr. Colin Wight Department of International Politics University of Wales Aberystwyth Wales SY23 3DA Tel Work: (01970)621769 Tel Home: (01970)627537 ============================================================= --- from list bhaskar-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
