Subject: Re: BHA: Emergence and Levels

For those interested, a great place to begin serious understanding of
     emergence is

William Wimsatt, 1997, "Aggregativity: Reductive heuristics for
finding emergence" in Philosophy of Science, Supplement to Vol.64,#4
(Proceedings of the 1996 Biennial Meeting of the Philosophy of Science
Association, Part II, Symposia Papers, edited by Lindley Darden), pp.,
     S372-S384.

Wimsatt's other papers, as referenced in this one, are also well worth
     finding and reading.
