When I discussed this with Gary (McClennan) at the conference we
(aesthetes!) both concurred that it was a 'beautiful' word and that the
aesthetics of nomeclature should not be forgotten. I have to say I agree
with Mervyn, although I think Caroline was right to bring up the subject of
its possible elitism. Such provocations are productive.
