Hi all,

Apologies in advance for going meta again.

I don't think that the Bhaskar list needs to undergo change at all in order
to continue to be an important and, for the most part, positive and
principled intellectual forum. Indeed, I think that it is the result of
something that we have mostly managed to get right that we have thus far
enjoyed a minimum of the kind of snippy one liners, vitriol, etc., that
abound on other academic lists. Colin, I would really encourage you not to
shift to lurker status -- though it might not hurt to try to cool down a
degree or two -- I can't imagine how dropping off would be a good thing for
the list, anyway.

Gary, I know that you contacted me about the DPF section. What's it looking
like, time-line-wise for the set of posts to come? When should we get
started? Am I first?! (Yikes!) Returning to the core task of working
through the text seems to me to be the very best way of re-focusing our
energies.

Warmly,
Ruth
