I am actually (no pun intended) going to try to sit this discussion out as much as I can, as I'm still trying to work through the debate over alethia, but I just wanted to say, for the record, that while I genuinely appreciate Howie's effort to respond to my request, I hadn't exactly been complaining about the degree of abstraction. The comment about prepositional phrases was more meant as a way of asking if it is not that case that we experience the presence or absence OF something.
