Dear Michael,

I just wanted to say how much I agreed with what you said in your email.
The experiences you describe reflect my own feelings about DPF, and it was
good to hear someone new to the list, or lurking on it, expressing them. I
wonder if your mail couldn't be filed in such a way that it was instantly
triggered by other contributions complaining about DPF as a standard response.

As regards feeling intimidated, it is worth remembering that many of us are
not trained as philosophers, but are interested in theory from the point of
view of the problems thrown up in our own patches. I think this is a
strength of the list, and of the theory, because it shows the ways in which
DCR is open to a variety of disciplines. (My own discipline is law and
legal theory).

I hope you will feel welcome to get involved in the discussion on DPF.

Best wishes,

Alan Norrie
