Date: Mon, 28 Jun 1999 12:10:44 +0100 Subject: BHA: Against structure - repsonse in *Alethia* Hi all, You will recall that Anthony King recently sent copies of his 'Against structure: a critique of morphogenetic social theory', The Sociological Review 47:2 (May 1999) to people on the List who asked for a copy. I think it states the interpretivist ontological individualist case against structure about as well as it can be stated. I would very much like to get a discussion going on this issue in *Alethia*. Critical realism in social theory stands or falls on it. Any takers to lock horns with Anthony from a critical realist perspective in the next *Alethia* (deadline September 1st)? (Margaret Archer is replying in the Sociological Review). It may be relevant that I would have no objection to subsequent publication of a revised version in a refereed journal. -- Mervyn Hartwig Editor, 'Alethia' Newsletter of the International Association for Critical Realism 13 Spenser Road Herne Hill London SE24 ONS United Kingdom Tel: 44 (0)171 737 2892 Email: mh-AT-jaspere.demon.co.uk ALETHIA is the newsletter of the International Association for Critical Realism [IACR], established in 1997 in association with the Centre for Critical Realism [CCR] to stimulate the discussion, propagation and development of critical realism on an international and interdisciplinary basis.
