Subject: BHA: Marx's form-content paradigm and Critical Realism

Earlier this year I sent a preliminary proposal to this list
regarding an international graduate seminar about Marx's
method and Critical Realism, to be taught on the internet in
the Spring 2001, with faculty and students from several
Universities taking part. Support for this seminar was
included in a grant proposal I submitted to the Utah System
of Higher Education, in which I also sought support for the
further development of my regular undergraduate email class
about Marx's *Capital*. The grant itself was approved in
June, but some technicalities regarding the copyright of the
computer programs to be developed for the undergraduate
class are not yet resolved. I had written into my grant
that all such software should be freely available under the
GNU public license. The University has been dragging their
feet now for 3 months to give their approval. As soon as
this issue will be resolved to my satisfaction will I go
forward with the organization of the seminar. I apologize
for the delay. Mervyn, I guess we have to wait with the
announcement until the next edition of Alethia; I tried to
get a final resolution before this Friday but chances are
slim that I will have the letter in hand tomorrow.

Hans Ehrbar.
