I'm looking for a discussion of causal and modal transforms by Rom Harre. Does anyone know where this? My interest, by the way, is in such discussions of things which exist in time and not space. I've been working on a postulated device as the fundamental theoretical object for the sociology of knowledge, and know how difficult many people find it when one is talking about something they cannot get their hands on and feel. There is a tendency to ask 'where is it?', when they really should be asking 'When is it?'. Anyway, a friend suggested Harre, but couldn't recall where he'd read it.
