Subject: BHA: Solidarity and Verso

This has to be quick, but

1. Tobin, I didn't mean that Bhaskar's choice of publishers alone explains
his current status in the academy, I merely meant that everyone knows that
in order to put together a respectable, to say nothing of stellar academic
career, one publishes with certain publishers, and none of RB's publishers
are among them. This doesn't mean that publishing with, say, Verso means
you will be completely ignored, but it doesn't help. I could give
examples but am in a rush.

2. I've been a member of Solidarity for thirteen years and except for the
strange haircut, tattoos, and having to beg for money in airports, I don't
feel like a cult member. Really, I don't recognize the group in the
description I read. I'm sure this is of NO interest to most members of
the list, so I won't elaborate on this either.
