This raises a really good point. Do most people read books straight
through? My own style of reading nonfiction books, especially on the
subject of philosophy, is to not read them in any sequential order. I
skip around a lot. If there's anything I really focus on, it's the
index. (Did they cite Marx? What do they say about class structure?
Etcetera.) This means that I become biased in favor of books that have
good, accurate, and comprehensive indices. Maybe I'm just odd, though.

I did not participate in any earlier reading. I would be interested in
participating this time around, though. Straathof's proposal is an
excellent one.
