Hi All,

yes, the fantom of Idealism is indeed notorious in, not only
Adorno's but, all kinds of modern (western) dialectics; and
-in fact- one could argue that modern (western) dialectics is
the main product (infant) of German Idealism;

and Bhaskar imo, he too is constantly wrestling with idealist (i.e.
anti-realist) tendencies/residues in and misconceptions of his own
thinking, e.g. in mypost to Andrew a couple of days ago, regarding
the switch from De to Ds, i proposed that his critique on ontological
actualism was the main reason for this switch,

but on second thoughts i would like to add that, because the
ontological *Dr>Da>De* scheme in its original (RTS) exposition
might lead to idealist misinterpretations (f.i. in the sense that one
could charge that -in the end- the Dr is nothing other than some
realm of transcendental *idealist/conceptual* identities or forms,
let's say: a basic Platonism with a Kantian twist, hi Ruth), Bhaskar
might have decided to change the term De to Ds, thereby explicitely
marking the TR watershed between the Dr as an independent, non-
actual and non-antropological, reality and the Ds as the zone fit and
comprised by the empirical and conceptual powers of human ageny.

yours,
jan

ps. i will leave the occultism thread, which seem to offend/irritate the
intelligence of some people here, however i find the research on para-
psychological phenomena from a CR perspective and methodology,
still a very interesting erea, maybe i'll write something on that ;-)
