The question of free will did cross my mind, but I decided it actually
didn't pertain.  An all-powerful being can choose not to act, just as we
less-powerful beings can choose not to act.  (As they say, sometimes one has
to let others make their own mistakes.)  Powers can exist without currently
being exercised.  My difficulty is more that the concept of omnipotence
appears incoherent to me, from the perspective of emergence.
