I am not aware of any thinker using these terms before Rousseau. Again, unless my memory is playing tricks on me, I believe that Marx makes use of this distinction, though I can't find it. I am almost certain that these terms do not appear in BEING AND NOTHINGNESS or the CRITIQUE OF DIALECTICAL REASON though whether they feature in some other work of Sartre's I don't know. I cannot think of any other theorists who have used these terms but I suspect there are some.
