Subject: BHA: scientific realism and foreign policy

A short mention of scientific realism in today's New York Times.
Their website requires a registration, which is free of charge.

"Scientific realists, on the other hand, emphasize a single cause:
the zero-sum game that is international politics. They think in terms
of systems and structures, rather than personalities, and they
downplay internal politics in favor of a vision of the world as a
chess game in which the question of whether one's knight is made of
marble or wood is irrelevant. They doubt that governments can do much
to cure the social diseases said to lead to war, and have a strong
predisposition to stay out of foreign conflicts."
