Ronny may know more, but the most complete listing of relevant stuff of Ellis' is in his own bibliography in his book *Scientific Essentialism* [Cambridge, 2001].  He also cites Lierse there, a colleague with whom he works closely.  If you can't get a hold of it, let me know.  The collection edited by Howard Sankey that he cites has some good stuff in it.

Let me think about the summary thing.  If you can wait a couple of months, the first chapter of my dissertation (which I'm writing last) will be a short and sweet version of exactly what you are looking for!
