Hi all,

Phil you asked what my problem is with the concept of alethic truth.  The one
sentence version of the article is that "alethic truth" is a misnomer for the
concept of real essence.  (Thanks to Dick for helping me see that this is a good
way to sum it up.)

I gotta run.  But I agree with Jamie (I think) and others that philosophers are
not exempt, qua philosophers, from having to make sense of the world.  That the
relative extent to which a given philosophical position does this is assessed
via comparison with an alternative is not unique to philosophy I don't think.
