Listers,

As an environmental scientist- I have been struggling to understand Mr.
W. W. Rostow's stages of economic development.

The understanding is strongly linked to the concept of development in
scientific terms. What does Rostow mean by economic development -
reading the history of agriculture including fishing, mining, population
growth and urban development there is an interesting array of mis-
scientific (my concept) data accumulated over years which is quite
interesting that indeed those sectors have developed in what one can
term as  positive  terms.

Notice mechanisation of agriculture has diminished agriculture sector in
the hands of the producer increased production which in itself is quite
magic. On the environmental level both human and land alike, are under
heavy doses of self extinction. More people are forced into enclaves /
or enclosures called cities where their very existence is limited by
lack of jobs/ finances to finance their lives.  As the urban regions
seem not to have an finite boundaries more economic and political
policies are instituted by the experts to expand the economy quasi
expanding urban regions to unmanageable enclosures with all  the misery
coming with it. One might assume urban dwellers are prisoners of their
very good consciousness. 

Not only that this development is quite economic but has backward
metamorphosis (imago to pupa) but it seems the very origin of human
nature is under a very interesting juxtaposition in it history.

I am trying to get hold of a medical doctor friend of mine to lecture me
on the nature of cancer ( cell toxicity ) and their origins, other new
human habits like drugs and diminishing human space in terms of human
needs and wants ( or social medicine) - if there is a medical doctor
please help.

I am on a very important work and all ideas/ data is well come.
