Subject: BHA: JCR and the debate on materialism

Dear all, 

The Bhaskar-Callinicos event is hosted jointly by the Centre for Critical Realism and Historical Materialism. Arrangements between the hosts, the speakers and a publication have yet to be made. The journal "Historical Materialism" is one possibility. The CCR has no publication of its own, but the inestimable ex-editor of the JCR, Mervyn, had requested me to pursue this with the speakers for the JCR. 

Frankly, I'm not in a position to say very much about recording and publishing the proceedings. The outcome of the JCR crisis is ny no means the least of the questions that need to be answered before I can.

Do you know if there will be any kind of record made of the event with Bhaskar
and Callinicos?  I would *love* to attend such a debate, but alas a
trans-atlantic trip is not possible ...
